Two weeks after a 23-year old woman was beaten and gang raped on a chartered bus in New Delhi, she died at a hospital in Singapore. Police shut down the city’s center, the India Gate, in anticipation of continuing mass protests. So instead, demonstrators came together at a heavily patrolled area nearby.
